Q: Why isn’t the 100 Hours of Astronomy held in the Summer (or Winter)?
A: The brief response is, which hemisphere’s summer or winter would you ask us to pick? The 100 Hours of Astronomy cornerstone project will take place April 2-5, 2009. These dates are at the junction of seasons for both the northern and southern hemispheres, allowing long nights for all, and moderate temperatures for people in mid and lower latitudes.
