The Artist’s Universe

The object of the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA), as a non-profit foundation, is to implement and participate in astronomical and space art projects, to promote education about astronomical art and to foster international cooperation in artistic work inspired by the exploration of the Universe. To this end, the IAAA has created a traveling exhibition titled “The Artists’ Universe”, a juried collection of 31 astronomical artworks by 23 artists that reflects various styles, subject matters, and media. It is targetted at an audience of families with children, school and day-camp groups and adults in general.  The goal of The Artists’ Universe is to evoke a fresh excitement about astronomy and space exploration and to increase interest in the appreciation of astronomical art. Previous venues of this traveling exhibit include:

The Artists’ Universe exhibit is not for sale, and serves solely to educate and inspire the general public. The IAAA requests from lenders of this exhibit a rental fee of US$1,000 (US$500 payable upon execution of the contract and US$500 payable on the first day of the loan period). A typical loan period is one month. The lender covers the shipping costs to the next venue.
